Fun

Was it fun?

I asked this question after every meeting I had. If it’s not, I won’t meet that person again. I try to avoid negative energy around me as much as I can.

Timeline

Your timeline is not everyone’s timeline. You only know based on what you can able to see, which is filtered by what they want to show you out. So, your projections are very subjective and most likely won’t happen exactly the way you have planned.

I feel like a tourist in SF

It’s been over 2 years I attended a mobile app/game growth event in person. The last time was February 2020 in San Francisco.

Today, I went to SF for Game Developers Conference to meet old friends and make new ones. It was amazing. I missed that vibe so much. I feel like a tourist in San Francisco. Keep taking pictures of the streets/places. Everything seems so new to me.

It is also so lovely to hug my old partners/customers/investors/friends again. Some of them left SF, some came back to SF again. But, we all somehow connected during the covid via our works. That’s why easy to reconnect again.

Restart from where you left

Let’s say you are in a good mood and everything seems great. But, then, something happened; all the hard work was diminished by something unseen. What will you do?

Fight or flight?

Fighting back sounds rational. Flight sounds reasonable.

But, I have a third option for you: Restart.

Yes, restart from where you left. However, this time won’t be a cold start because your body and mind know where you used to be.

Every job

We have opinions, ideas, and feedback for the places we’ve been, encountered, etc.

-They should add more greens to their menu

– They should have Vale

– They need to vire VP of Sales

– Their engineering team need a guidance

– Their service is so slow

This list goes on. We only know what’s seen for us. Running business hard. Every job is challenging.

“Every job looks easy when you’re not the one doing it.” Jeff Immelt

A little bit more tolerance is what we all need.

Real America

I’m in San Antonio, Texas the last couple of days.

Big highways & Big Cars.

Progressive local government and moving diverse economy.

Huge Stores- Cheap House & Gas Prices. (When you compare anywhere to California is cheap)

This is Real America. California especially Bay Area is a “Big Bubble”

Life inside the bubble seems rational and normal– Seth Godin

Continuously recruiting

Recruiting new ideas through traveling, books, trying new experiments is a great exercise to question your old ideas.

There is no absolute truth. There is no “a” book for perfecting your mood, life, or financial situation. If that was the case, only “one” book or “one” vacation place for everyone. Whatever works for someone might work for you for a limited time or indefinitely.

The best way to figure out keep recruiting new ideas continuously and see which one sticks for a longer time.

One step at a time

Lots of opportunities mean lots of noises in the meantime.

Avoiding is hard. Sometimes impossible.

Remind yourself “One step at a time”

Finish your task, deliver your work.

Start the “next project” with a clean tab.

Watch out. You are going to fall!

I watched a dad & daughter today. She was climbing a small hill and her dad was silently watching her. No directing, no pushing.

Then, I remembered, “my people” who are from “protective families” their moms and dads are always alert. Always ready to serve their kids.

Never let them fail, never let them try something new. They push their formulas-ready to go “life packages”
