%99 percent

99% of our problems are solved by good health & financial freedom.

Here are my tactics for both.

Health:

  • Start small changes in your diet & be more active.

    Ex1Take stairs instead of elevators.

    Ex2: Don’t put milk/sugar on your coffee

  • Change your food order

Ex: Let’s say you order a dish at a restaurant. It comes with protein, salad, and carb(potato or bread); start eating salad, then protein, and if you still want to eat carbs at last.

Finance:

  • Start saving as little as possible, then gradually find a sweet spot for monthly savings.

Ex1: I automated every time I charge my Tesla on I automatically buy $50 Tesla Stocks. (Money I saved from Gas every full tank pretty much)

  • Don’t compete/compare your living standards with others. You don’t know where they started or what’s their actual net worth just watching their IG stories.

Ex1: You are an average of five-person is around you. The same principle applies to who you follow on social media too. Don’t follow people who give you anxiety or make you depressed. Either mute their stories/posts or just follow people, inspire and motivate you.

Both financial freedom and healthy life are long games. So stay positive and remind yourself this is your GAME!

People Inspire Me: Naomi Nakagawa

You probably never heard of Naomi’s name. She is not a famous tech entrepreneur(yet!) or writer. But she’s for sure a hustler. She’s an almost 7 months old pregnant entrepreneur who lives in NYC and building next-generation security –Lemin Captcha services for web/app companies. Ok, at this point you might say what’s the point she inspires you. But, I’ll tell you what: She’s not staying in her comfortable house in NYC to enjoy the last couple of months of pregnancy. She is traveling for work. And, yesterday we met for lunch.

This was not my first meeting with her. I know Naomi’s business partner Mitsuo-San for a long time but I was shocked when I saw Naomi at the lunch place because she was pregnant and at SF for meetings. And, she was so cool and didn’t even mention a single word how hard is life as a female/pregnant founder. Instead, she super focuses on closing a deal. I felt so inspired and lazy after our lunch. Also, super happy to call her my friend.

Slow down, you crazy child…

I came across a beautiful song, “Vienna,” by Billy Joel. Never heard it before. The lyrics are pretty much aligned where I am now.

Later in his life, Billy Joel also didn’t listen to what he wrote in this song (age of 28), but I am pretty happy with someone back in 1977 who thought life pretty much similar manners. Enjoy it!

-Slow down, you crazy child

-You got so much to do and only so many hours in a day

-Slow down, you’re doing fine –

-You can’t be everything you wanna be before your time

-When will you realize? Vienna waits for you

Your style

Your style is who you are. But you need to know who you are.

-What do you like to do?

-Who are you willing to spend your time with?

-Your likes/dislikes etc

Then when you know. Don’t let anyone tell you who you are.

Keep seeing

I keep seeing a running shoe brand every time I go hiking last couple of months. Today, I purchased my first pair of it. Then I did a research they have been making a shoe since 2010 with their unique touch. Lastly, they own 6.6% running shoe market in U.S (huge market share in Switzerland-40%). Either that reason or something else, they stuck in my head without seeing a single tv or online ads. Kudos them!

Integration

Integration takes time. From your country to new “world” is ongoing integration process. It’s never going to fully complete. It gets easier.

That’s why don’t try check all the boxes and want to pass “what’s next”. This is your present and your future too.

Emotional Baggage

We are all carrying the baggage which is loaded by our families, friends, and culture. It is hard to figure out which one of the bags is ours and which one of theirs.

The nature of reality, what we are doing our real baggage, either replace them with new/cool ones or keep using them till no more functioning. How about our emotional baggage? How often do we think/maintain or replace them?

Draft ideas

My daily writing is a way of drafting my ideas. Some of my writings are not complete. And others are missing the connection or endings. That’s all fine with me. The good thing is writing every day I won’t need to worry to think what was my idea back in summer 2021. All I need to check those days on my archive. (If you are curious, you can do that too)

Maybe one day, If I have enough draft ideas, they will turn to be bigger or more complete projects.
