NYC, Events

I’m in NYC for a couple of days. Then Boston, then NYC. This is my second time in NYC this year.

I think we are back to normal. Covid is over. Business meetings & Events FOMO is real.

I’ll be attending two events today. One is related to ad/mar-tech (we are co-sponsoring with other industry folks) other is I’m hosting New York City Turks in Tech.

Let’s go

Weirdos & Reading books

Reading books has an amazing benefit for your business. You should first have a business or project, then read. Reading is a great intelligence & insight tool.

Find a bunch of successful entrepreneurs and read their biographies or autobiographies. The way they operate makes you fell more confident and less weird. Because lately, I figured I’m auto-controlling myself a lot.

For ex: Instead of coming up with 10 crazy ideas- I only share 3 of them with my team. Why?

Because I don’t want them to think my mind is all over the place. But, last 2 weeks, I have been reading around 5 biographies ( Dunkin Donuts, In-N-Out, Apple, Walmart, and Sam Zell’s)- all of them somehow crazy about their products and obsessed with everything in their business.

Mr. Inside & Mr. Outside

Mr. Inside= takes care of the internal operations & team, and performance.

Mr. Outside= focuses on all external relationships, deals, and promoting the business.

When you have those gentlemen in your organization, ideally co-founders- you will be unstoppable. You can run as much as you can without any hesitation.

We don’t let anyone leave our store empty handed

A dry fruits shop owner said to me, “We don’t let anyone leave our store empty-handed,” while he was helping with a big smile on his face and offered me free samples.

His shop was at hundreds of year-old bazaar nearby Ankara Castle, Turkey.

I was 10 or 11 years old. Since that day, that phrase has struck me.

It doesn’t matter how big or small the customers are.

Be respectful and serve the BEST you can!

That’s exactly what we are trying to do at MobileAction

We are here to solve your problems, not create ones.

Our doors are wide open for all types and sizes of app companies.

And, I can guarantee it: You will not leave empty-handed!

Blue-collar-Techno-Laborer.

Working at FANG as an employee is a new definition of a blue-collar worker. But the difference is you are a blue-collar-techno-laborer.

Your personality and uniqueness don’t really matter. Just do the work! Ship it and move on!

Be ready

Be ready for your friends.

Without asking for a return, just do your work.

Be ready!

Today for them.

Tomorrow for you?

YEAP! You are still waiting for a return. Nothing for YOU!

Just be ready for them.

Mexico, Startup Scene and Opportunities

I was in Mexico City last week. Super surprised how much I didn’t know anything about “Mexico.” Actually, how much I knew wrong about Mexico.

Honestly, Mexico is a great place for going to resorts, amazing beaches, and food but also super open to starting a new business. It probably has its own pros and cons but after living a pretty long time in the USA- you kind of get the huge confidence to do whatever you want to do.

Definitely want to visit more often. And already exploring biz opportunities. Check out my Linkedin post about my opinion on Startup Scene there & pics.

Turkish Tea

When I was in college, I drank so much Turkish Tea at home with my mom. Whenever we were bored- we drank tea. Whenever we were happy-we drank tea.

I like to drink Turkish Tea with someone who likes them as much as I do. Not the one who drinks only one cup, to be polite:) But, the last couple of days, I drink by myself. Making Turkish tea is a ritual. It takes a minimum of 20 minutes (the way I do). It is some sort of meditation for me. I like it.
