Man started to do more housework

Today, I read a research Men are involving more housework during the corona. I believe gender norms are going to change after this pandemic. Not just only contributing household work also but also expectations from men and women.

Also, everyone is started to utilize their house, learning new cooking & cleaning skills plus sharing more time than ever. I think the last three months of time in Corona are an equal minimum of one year of regular days. If someone asks you, how long are you married, you can easily add up one year on top of your actual time:)

How desperate are you?

If you are really desperate, you can’t think anything else then your problem. All you gotta do is “take yourself from that shithole”.

The biggest problem is everyone’s tipping point is different.

I personally can’t stand of laziness, ignorance, and non-activity. Whenever I see those, I feel someone stabbing me with multiple knives.

That automatically makes me think I gotta do something. Because I love problems especially challenges. I love connecting multiple issues for a single answer. Less I know details more I can expand my vision & strategy.

Hiring during the COVID

We are hiring during this pandemic. Mobile apps are taking over (finally) the world. Especially games, food delivery, music/video apps, and live content apps.

We are trying our best to serve all sizes and types of app companies + app-related industries. How we do that? Hiring “world-class potential individuals”. They are not necessarily needed from the mobile industry but we believe that we can teach anyone mobile If they are eager to learn.

To be honest, I was little bit scared at the beginning of COVID, my least favorite thing is to do laying off teams or offices. Last 7 years ( by the way MobileAction turned to be 7 years old this month) we never let anyone go if they perform great and growing within our company. I hope we will keep this tradition as it is. We are hiring for many positions If you are interested in, check out our Linkedin Page closely.

Sunday

Sundays are used to be my favorite day. I was going to the same coffee shop all the time and listen to same playlist and do mostly “weekly overview” work.

I’m thinking to start the same routine again with multiple modifications. What’s your Sunday routine look like?

Permanent Address vs HQ

I never liked to have a “ Permanent Address” concept. Instead of saying this, I prefer HQ.

a) Much cooler to say

b) You don’t limit yourself “a” place.

I started to see my friends from outside of the Bay Area started to move out of the city. Either they are going back home or alternative global tech hubs such as London, Tel Aviv, Berlin, etc.

Still, some of them keep their HQs are in the SF Bay Area others didn’t. But they don’t have anymore “FOMO”.

You don’t have to be in the bay area anymore to raise capital or get interacted with those “cool” people. All you need to have a great product, team and internet connection.

Note: Why am I still in the Bay Area? My HQ is in the Bay Area. Pre COVID days, I was traveling mostly Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Now, I’m cruising with my zoom call those cities that I missed a lot. Waiting impatiently travel around the world very soon.

One year ago today

I like to see pictures or videos I shared on Facebook 1, 2, or 5 years ago today. It is a great reminder to you where were you at that time and what you were doing it. I think it will be a good browser extension or app to remind you of who you had a zoom call or in-person meeting one or 2 years ago today. You can connect your calendar and it will remind you automatically every day/week/month based on your frequency settings.

Not all the time we are taking a picture or posting on social media publicly. But, our calendar is storing those events anyway. It will be a good product. Maybe it’s something already out there.

Product vs Service

I just had a call with entrepreneurs from Turkey who are struggling to find product-market fit and building solutions for their clients. While in the conversation I figured out they also running their service company.

Pretty much they are about to the spinoff of product from the service business. That is why they think they still need to keep the agency clients and help their needs. As you can see the world’s biggest agencies never build a world-class product. They might have something that works for them to reduce workflow but never took off. Why is that?

Answer is FOCUS

If you focus something 100 %, you will get a 100 % return. That’s it. You can’t keep running service and product same time. You might have a service after you hit product-market fit as a customer success solution. Still, your service should not be your main business line. Service should be a complementary/temporary solution to engage and retain clients.

So, focus to build a product first. Later think about service. Most of the service work either can be automated by-product onboarding, addons or find cheap labor solutions and outsource it.

Automation

Is this something really need my time and focus?

Can I delegate this to someone else?

Or, how we can fully automate?

As a business owner, you should ask these questions all the time. Maybe you enjoy doing it but in the long run, you will be your biggest bottleneck.

So, start listing your daily task, maybe you can even automate without even writing single code. Like “no-code” tools.
