Efficiency

Efficiency makes me feel great. I love passing airport security checks seamlessly. That’s why I enrolled TSA Pre Check & CLEAR program a very long time ago. I pass security points on average in 30-60 seconds—no need to take off shoes, laptops, etc. Also, my Amex platinum credit card gave me all the lounge access wherever I fly in the USA. My United Premier Status always lets me board earlier than regular passengers.

Why am I so obsessed with all fast & quick access?

Because, I can see how much time I’m saving.

People matter

You have lots of goals and dreams, but who will support or help you on the way of your journey?

Yes, People around you.

Those people matter a lot.

Be careful who you see and spend time with. They either make you a king or slave.

Hot or cold?

Las Vegas is super hot during the summer months. But also super cold in the winter time.

SF Bay Area?

Depends on which part of the bay. For example, South Bay is warm most of the year.

Peninsula?

Each city on Peninsula has various types of weather.

I believe the weather is a very crucial factor when we are picking “a” the place we want to live. Your city’s weather shapes your personality.

Dinner party

I love enjoying hosting dinner parties. Small, intimate groups are the way to go. Having agenda before the meeting is essential. We can all talk about anything. But having a broader idea helps to the audience to start a conversation easier.

Events

Person a-Do you know of any events I can meet up with people?

Person b-What do you want to do when you meet those people?

Person a-I’ll do business with them.

A meeting is a starting point. A business will eventually happen but shouldn’t be “a” final goal after 1-2 minutes of small high-level talks.

Changes for you

Not everything is so obvious to everyone.

We get mad about why are they still acting like something never happened?

Yes, things changed for you but not for them. That’s why these are not apparent for them.

Reducing risk

Reducing risk is as important as growing existing opportunities. The ideal one is to do both of them at the same time if you can be capable do it. If you don’t have a bandwidth, then you should hire or consult someone who done it before.

I’m the first one

I met an entrepreneur from Turkey yesterday for a coffee. He was born in Turkey since high school and spent his time in Europe and the Middle East mostly. His family is pretty diverse. Grandmoms of each of his parents are from Europe. (non-Turkish) English is technically his first language.

He said to me: I’m the first person in my family who didn’t go to university. Even my grandfather’s father went to college.

And, I said to him:- I’m the first one in my family who went to college:)

He educated himself by starting a bunch of companies in Dubai last 16 years and now starting a new one in the USA. No need to go to school if you know the right people either from your family or business relationship. You are in a real-life university. Every day is a school day. Every moment is a quiz but you always learning.

Networking

I don’t really like to go to crazy crowded events. What’s my crazy number?

Anything more than 20 people is too much to me.

I like 1:1 or small/carefully curated groups of people, especially if they know who they are going to meet before the events.

How about networking?

I don’t believe that networking is for going to events and meeting people randomly. The best way to know someone is by working together. Either at the same project or client/service provider experience.

David Sinclair-Longevity

I’m in a rabbit hole of David Sinclair and his work of longevity. You can find quite a video clips/podcasts about what to eat/drink to live around 120+years.

So far what I found helpful:

  • Fasting is great. Pretty much stress your body and let it survive. During 16 to 18 hours of fasting, the body reproduces good genes (I oversimplified please do your research)
  • Go outside with Tshirt on a cold day or take a cold shower couple of times a week
  • Eat mostly greens and little meat if you have to (when you are out)
  • Run or power walk two/tree times a week for 15-20 minutes
  • Go Sauna a couple of times a week.
  • Stop smoking
  • If you want to drink, drink red wine. Max 1-2 per day.

Seems like a pretty reasonable lifestyle. What do you think?
