Change your routine today!

I know that’s is not easy. Everyone keep saying that you should have a “routine” also they say you should change your “routine” from time to time. We feel what’s going on should I have a routine or not?

I don’t like to follow anything that doesn’t make sense to me. On the other hand, if something makes sense doesn’t necessarily need to make sense tomorrow. That’s why we need to remind ourselves “ Is this routine makes me happy, smart and energetic?” If it is not, change it. Change it with a better version of it. Just called version 1.1. You don’t have to ship a massive new version with huge improvement and bug fixes. Just start with minor changes.

Energy

I believe in the energy of everything. It doesn’t matter who you are dealing with. It can be your loved ones, friends or pets. On top of this, I do believe also non-living creatures also receive and send energy. If you have good energy, you will receive good ones. Also, your energy attracts your kind of energy.

You can always adjust your energy level being with great minds, doing exercise and meditation. More you have more you share.

So, what you do for yourself, you are doing for others, and what you do for others, you are doing for yourself.

January’s Top Books

I’m sharing the top 3 books I read or re-read every month. Depends on the mood, I do also share some bonus movies, article or gadgets.

Eleven Rings- The Soul of Success by Phil Jackson. I read this book right after a big loss of Kobe Bryant. I heard Phil Jackson’s success at Chicago Bulls and Lakers before however really wanted to learn the world-famous coach’s perspective and biography. He is so much into mindfulness, Zen and mental strengths. I like it he is definitely exceptional. Watch this video to understand Phil Jackson’s coaching model

The Age of Surveillance Capitalism: The Fight for a Human Future at the New Frontier of Power by Shoshana Zuboff. Mind-blowing!!! Pretty much hard to describe this book. Especially if you are in tech. Honestly, in 2020 everybody is in tech. The average person spends 4-5 hours daily on. their phone. Shoshana explained what’s happening when you sharing data with the tech giants. And, what will be future look like.

An Economist Walks into a Brothel: And Other Unexpected Places to Understand Risk by Allison Schrager. She does explain the “risk” definition for each job profession and industry. Brothel itself is a very unique one. Insurance to the Movie industry, you can able to analyze what is risk factors. Her language is super easy to understand some of the terms didn’t make sense to me while I was studying economics in college.

BONUS

Parasite(Movie) I really wanted to watch this movie in a movie theatre so long. I couldn’t find a proper location and time. Finally, it’s on Amazon and other places for rent and buy. It’s an unbelievable movie. Characters, story, and production. It’s been a while to watch a movie like this

People Business

I have been running MobileAction since 2013. I didn’t make sure how long I was going to run the company when I started. I was pretty much focusing days, not months, not quarters or years. Only I was trying to optimize the following days. Later on, we started to make a plan for a month or quarter. Still, months or years are too long for me. I don’t like a project if it takes a couple of months. I have no problem with waiting or be patient to see results. However, I like to see progress day by day. There is always room for improvement for anything. Let’s think about a deal we want to close. We want to onboard them let’s say next month. However, the client has some internal decision-making process also some technical integration or engagement need on our or their end. What will be doing during that time?

I honestly believe keeping conversation should be like warm soup. Whenever you want to eat it don’t worry is it too cold or too hot? It’s always eatable anytime you prefer. That’s why you should always some level engagement or conversation going on them.

You can always apply this basic principle for any kind of relationship. At the end of the day whatever we do or deal with, it’s all about people. Your loved ones, families, colleagues and clients who they are human beings. They want to deal with caring, genuine and driven people.

Right Person

Some many good people, ideas and places. It’s not about someone or something good or bad. It’s all about the Right :

  • Time

  • Place

  • Person

I know that’s so hard to make sure those top 3 works out all the time. The best way to figure out is: You need to have relevant experience, knowledge, and network.

Honestly, I believe in the right person more important than time and place. As long as you are with the right team members, you will eventually figure out. You might see a lot of movie producers, sports coaches, or startup founders mostly work the same people over and over because they know their crew’s weaknesses and strengths. They wait the right time and places to plug in the right person.

After staying long enough for any domain or industry, you know what’s coming or what will be going to happen near future some sense. That’s exactly what happened in my case. When Apple announced Apple Search Ads(Octobe 2016), I knew that’s a big thing is coming. The same day I bought the domain SearchAds.com. I was in the right place, right time, and my team was ready to execute it. Today, the platform trusted by thousands of companies. Thanks to MobileAction’s distribution and our team’s app store optimization expertise.

It’s all about the right person. When you know someone has good potential, go ahead and invest that person.

Being with

Pretty much is everything related to who you with. Being with someone who motivates, encourages and loves you no matter that’s all we need from in this life. Nothing more and nothing less.

I read Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s book Flow while I was in Japan, August 2017. That time I was pretty much lost and not sure where I should live or who should I be with. After almost 2,5 years later, I still check that book from time to time. I came across this highlight from Flow:

Social science surveys have universally concluded that people claim to be most happy with friends and family, or just in the company of others. When they are asked to list pleasant activities that improve their mood for the entire day, the kind of events most often mentioned are “Being with happy people,” “Having people show interest in what I say,” “Being with friends,” and “Being noticed as sexually attractive.” One of the major symptoms that sets depressed and unhappy people apart is that they rarely report such events occurring to them. A supportive social network also mitigates stress: an illness or other misfortune is less likely to break a person down if he or she can rely on the emotional support of others.

Mamba Mentality

I didn’t know what does it mean Mamba or Mamba mentality till yesterday. I know people call Kobe Bryant “Mamba”. I thought something like a nickname or even thought something Japanese. Never need to check out what does “Mamba” stands for.

Then, after the tragedic event happened yesterday, I did research. It was so unfortunate to me learning what’s his way of living and mentality.

So what does Mamba Mentality really mean? “To sum up what Mamba Mentality is, it means to be able to constantly try to be the best version of yourself,” Bryant said.

Life is so fragile. We are all thinking some people are like untouchable. At the end of the day, we are all human beings.

“It’s the one thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you—or don’t. So don’t take it lightly.” – Kobe Bryant

Form of Art

I don’t know you but I love looking piece of art. You don’t necessarily go to Art Gallery or Museum to experience this feeling. We are surrounded by form of arts. It can be anything. Such as : small cup of coffee or flower on your backyard.

My Art of the Day: I love these flowers (don’t know their name). They attract hummingbirds and bees all the time.

Let’s have a couple of minutes today and leave your phone on your car or house, go walk and observe those art pieces.

Free Education- Video per day!

I started to watch lessons again at Khan Academy (Pretty much Free Education for Everyone). I kinda shock why am I wasting my time to find good content on Youtube or Netflix. Just go Khan Academy start watching any topics you interest in to learn.

Yesterday, I watched the Finance & Capital Market Lesson. I felt smarter and knowledgeable after a couple of hours of good content. I wasn’t tired at all. Figured out I didn’t know some basics of Finance. That’s okay.

My goal to watch at least 1 video per day!

I’ll update you guys on how it goes the next couple of months.

How do I fuel my heart?

When I first read this sentence on Chop Wood Carry Water, I stopped and thought about it for a while.

Whenever we get up, we think what we should eat at breakfast Then, at lunchtime, what we should have for lunch? Then Dinner, It’s a Joke. Are we cooking? Are we going to eat or How about Take-Out?

It’s all about fueling our stomach. We don’t wanna be HUNGRY! We constantly eating and not giving a chance to feel a little bit emptiness at all.

In the book, Akira answered this question “You fuel your heart with six things: what you watch, what you read, what you listen to, who you surround yourself with, how you talk to yourself, and what you visualize.
